Anesthesia
- Led by a Board-Certified Anesthesiologist – Anesthesia is directed by our board-certified anesthesiologist, Dr. Nick Fleissner, who oversees all protocols and provides case-by-case guidance for optimal safety and comfort.
- Individualized Anesthetic Plans – Every patient receives a tailored anesthetic protocol based on their species, breed, medical history, diagnostic findings, and surgical procedure - allowing for a highly personalized and thoughtful approach.
- Specialized Monitoring and Equipment – Our surgical suites are equipped with advanced anesthetic monitoring tools, and procedures are supported by licensed veterinary technicians with advanced training in anesthesia (VTS).
Post-Operative Care
- Criticalist-Supported Recovery – Our board-certified criticalist, Dr. Michelle Griego-Valles, is involved in post-operative planning and care, offering expertise in managing complex cases and providing an added layer of medical oversight for patients with additional needs.
- Overnight Hospitalization and Monitoring – Most patients remain hospitalized overnight after surgery for continued pain management and recovery monitoring. Our inpatient care team includes a full-time overnight veterinarian and experienced support staff to ensure stability and comfort throughout the night.
- Continuity of Care – We communicate directly with pet owners and referring veterinarians to provide updates, answer questions, and ensure everyone involved in the patient’s care is informed and supported — from intake through discharge and beyond.
- A Seamless Experience – Whether it’s a routine procedure or a more complex case, our integrated anesthesia and recovery team ensures that every patient receives compassionate, comprehensive care — backed by clinical expertise and a commitment to surgical excellence.
