During your pet’s consultation, one of our board-certified surgeons will review your pet’s medical history, perform an examination, and discuss diagnostic or surgical recommendations. You’ll have time to ask questions and fully understand your options.
Some cases may require additional diagnostics, such as bloodwork, CT imaging, or ultrasound imaging. If needed, our team can coordinate these services during or following the consultation.
In many cases, surgery can be scheduled within days, depending on your pet’s condition and the surgeon’s recommendations. Urgent surgical needs may be accommodated more quickly.
Yes, in most cases, your pet will stay overnight so our team can closely monitor their recovery and provide appropriate pain management. Our inpatient care team includes an overnight veterinarian, along with experienced technicians who ensure your pet receives attentive, compassionate care throughout the night.
Anesthesia is a key part of ensuring your pet’s comfort and safety during surgery, and we take it very seriously. At HVS, all anesthesia is overseen by a board-certified anesthesiologist and administered by licensed technicians with advanced training in anesthetic monitoring. Each anesthetic plan is carefully tailored to your pet’s individual needs, taking into account their medical history, age, and overall health. Throughout the procedure and recovery, your pet is closely monitored to ensure their safety and comfort every step of the way.
Costs vary based on the procedure and any necessary diagnostics. After your consultation, we’ll provide a detailed treatment plan and cost estimate. We’re happy to work with pet insurance providers by supplying all necessary documentation to help you submit claims and maximize your coverage. Be sure to check with your provider about what’s included in your plan.
